From the cloudy peaks of the Peruvian Andes to the tranquil waters of Lake Geneva, Mary Gostelow is a globe-trotting guru with her finger firmly on the pulse of luxury travel. Armed with her pen and an insatiable curiosity, Gostelow has become one of the world’s most respected travel journalists, celebrated for her visionary global perspectives and unmatched knowledge of hotels and high-end hospitality.
British-born and raised at a boys’ boarding school in Berkshire where her father was headmaster, Mary Gostelow was also partly educated in America which shaped her global outlook from an early age. She began her career at The Daily Telegraph in London, but it was only later, while living in Beirut, that she discovered her passion for writing about travel and hospitality.
Today, Mary Gostelow divides her time between her English countryside home and the world’s greatest hotels, living out of a suitcase for more than 300 days a year.

Starting Gostelow Report as a way to keep in contact with friends and family whilst she was travelling, it has grown into a highly respected monthly market intelligence newsletter, often championed as the ‘bible’ of the luxury hotel world.
Mary also runs Girlahead, a prolific online travelogue and contributes to several leading travel publications. Beyond writing, she hosts the Mary Gostelow Girlahead Podcast, where she brings refreshing honesty, insight and wit to the luxury sector.
Her accolades include the HSMAI Lifetime Achievement Award and Robb Report Hong Kong’s Authority of Luxury Award.
