Global Hotel Alliance x Regent Seven Seas Cruises - 3

The omnipresent themes throughout the annual CEOs’ meeting of Global Hotel Alliance GHA on Regent Seven Seas’ Splendor stressed collusion, convergence and cooperation – and networking.

Acting together helps all parties. Jason Montague had met Opus One’s Director Business Development Greg Miller, above – and one thing led to another. The result onboard was an exclusive Opus One Experience with dishes cooked by RSSC’s top chef, South African Michael Meyepa – who, like Jason Montague and Wesley de Silva (see them both, above) had flown in specially from Miami.

After Krug Rosé, the progression started with 2022 Robert Mondavi Winery Fumé Blanc and went on to 2021 Opus One with mushroom velouté and truffle. Next came 2017 Opus One with seared Barbary duck breast and glazed turnip, followed by 2012 Opus One with tournedos Rossini, and, finally, Opus One Overture 2021 with almond and chocolate Opéra Maison cake.

The late Bob Mondavi himself had always declared a good red should be as smooth as a baby’s bottom and he would surely be delighted with the way Opus One, now owned 50-50 by Constellation and Baron Philippe de Rothschild, is today catalyst for such an epitomal hospitality event.
